I recently bought and quickly received a
SPLITTER 16 ton horizontal version for
hook up to the stock hydraulics of an 18 HP diesel
tractor.
The support has been terrific both from
Mike and Doug. I needed some help since hydraulics
was a new field for me. Anyway the splitter is very
sturdily built and is easy to hook up to the category 1
3 pt hitch. It will split anything except the nastiest
of multiply branched forked pieces that you\'d skip anyway.
(I just had to try them.)
The cycle is not too fast for my 18HP tractor and is therefore safe. For a one person operation it works fine since it has a locking return and is retracted by the time the next piece is in hand. I got the 4 way wedge and it too works just fine with the right sized pieces.
For efficiency and since there will be more people involved in putting up the 16+ cords needed I am considering upgrading with the PTO hydraulic pump. The cycle time will be quite fast then and splitting will require more caution, but productivity will benefit. In all a great purchase, support and product experience. It is a super splitter, thanks!
